What is MeshCore?

MeshCore is the decentralized backbone of the Berkshire County communication network. Unlike traditional ISPs, it operates on a peer-to-peer architecture where every node acts as both a client and a relay.

This ensures resilience. If one path fails, traffic reroutes automatically. No central point of failure, no single point of control.

Network Topology

Our primary backbone nodes leverage high-altitude peaks to maximize line-of-sight coverage across the county.

Bousquet Node

Primary Western Hub.
Coordinates: 42.35°N, 73.18°W
Range: ~15mi radius

Jiminy Peak Node

Primary Southern Hub.
Coordinates: 42.30°N, 73.10°W
Range: ~18mi radius

Join the Network

We are currently accepting new node operators in the Pittsfield, Lenox, and Williamstown areas. Hardware requirements are minimal; standard 802.11ac routers with custom firmware are sufficient.
